Three UPEI Panthers made the first all-star team in Atlantic University Sport women’s soccer Thursday.
UPEI striker Meaghan Malcolm of Markham, Ont., defender Hannah Roche of Pownal and keeper Chanelle Roy of Bathurst, N.B., made the team. It was announced in Sydney, N.S. where the conference championship starts today.
Dalhousie midfielder Rieka Santilli was named most valuable after scoring six goals, including two game-winning markers.
Other major award winners were: Cape Breton's Chelsea Currie, rookie of the year; Acadia's Alana Fairfax, student-athlete community service award; Cape Breton’s Stephen (Ness) Timmons, coach of the year.
The Panthers play Mount Allison today at noon in quarter-final action.
