Stratford takes opening game of KCBL championship series against Morell Chevies

MORELL — Corey Douguay threw a complete game three-hitter in leading the Stratford 3 Points Machining and Aerospace Athletics to 2-0 win over the Morell Coverall Chevies in the opening game of the best-of-seven Kings County Baseball League final.

Troy Coffin went the distance, giving up four hits, in taking the loss.

Shawn Macdougall, who had two hits and Marshall Ellis drove in runs with hits in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Randy Taylor had the other Stratford hit.

Scott Ellsworth, Scott Harper and Grant Doyle had the hits for the Chevies.

The game was moved to Morell due to field unavailability in Charlottetown.

Game 2 goes Thursday at 7 p.m. in Morell.

    Chevies are too old and washed up. A's in 4. Allister for MVP.

    game 2 will be different , couldnt get the bats going in the mad wind wednesday night , expect big things from the chevies bats tonight
