Eric Beaton and Janet Gamble both posted times fast enough for consolation finals for the 50 free today in Etobicoke.

Gamble was only 2 tenths off her lifetime best set more than a decade ago. The time is a UPEI record and provincial record.

Beaton broke his lifetime best enroute to a CIS and Olympic Trials qualifying time.

This is the first national finals for UPEI swimmers in the history of the team.
