Morgan Walker (2), Matt Kelly, Harrison McIver, Drew Coulson and Alex Gallant drew assists for the Caps, who improved their pre-season record to 3-1.

Kent Small and Jamie Russell replied for the Timberwolves, who once trailed 2-0 and received assists from Prince Edward Islanders Marshall Ellis, Nathan McQuaid and Jesse MacIntyre.

The Caps led 1-0 after one period, and 2-1 following 40 minutes.

Overall, each team registered 35 shots on goal. Paul Dorsey stopped all 19 shots he faced for the Caps through the first 31:19 of the game, and Alex Micalef allowed two goals on 16 shots the rest of the way. Kyle Ferdinand went the distance for Miramichi.

The Capitals close out pre-season play with a return visit to Miramichi tonight. The Caps open the 2010-11 regular season at home against Dieppe on Sunday, Sept. 12.
