Re ‘P.E.I. MLAs may get pay raise' (The Guardian, Feb. 26, 2013): What is going on here? Do these people think all the taxpayers on the Island are idiots?

We have heard for months that the deficit won't be paid off as first expected and it is more than expected. We are to look for cuts across the board like ERs closing, HST taking a bigger chunk of our disposable incomes, not enough money to build or repair our mouldy schools and the list goes on. Yet in someone's mind, it is all right to give the politicians a raise.

So what if they are making less than their counterparts elsewhere - so am I! Give me a break. With all this garbage coming from Ottawa and now this as well, I am afraid that there is soon going to be some sort of taxpayers' revolt.

We just can't take much more and can't be expected to either.
