Editor:

We have watched with interest the public’s response to our hotel development in downtown Charlottetown.

Although it is unfortunate that the public has chosen this one element to focus on and ignored the beautiful building we constructed on Fitzroy Street; the refacing of National Bank Tower; upgrading of the mall interior; a new building on Queen Street; connecting under Grafton Street to Confederation Centre of the Arts; and a restored façade on Grafton Street, their concerns are not falling on deaf ears.

As city officials are already aware, after we met with city planning over a month ago, we have undertaken to go back to building architects and designers to provide some ideas which will improve the façade of the building. We would ask for the public’s patience for the project to be complete before they pass final judgment.

We will be releasing more information about the project in the next couple of weeks, so the public can have a better understanding of the project in its entirety.

We all want a downtown we can be proud of.  We are certainly investing to achieve this end.

You may be making a lovely building,my concern is the traffic closure. Charlottetown has a bad enough traffic flow without the street being closed for as long as it has been.Seems it has been an extensive time.It has been very in-convient.Get to it.
