Re: the killing of seals and seal pups last week at Beach Point:
There is a school of thought that says that neighbours/friends/relatives/work buds don't "rat each other out". This notion may go back to childhood years when we were told that 'no one likes a tattletale'.
But - and it is a big 'but' - the person(s) you may know to have bludgeoned these supposedly disposable seals to death last week may be capable of other acts of violence toward other species when it suits them. So if seals aren't your cup of tea, or you can manage to justify this horrible act in some way, think on this: maybe next time this person decides to kill or maim something, it'll be your pet, your child, or even you if you happen to provoke them sufficiently, or they can rationalize that you somehow deserve it.
Moreover, in killing these animals as they did, this person broke the law, and committed a criminal offence. Do you really think that keeping silent about the identity of this callous, violent and lawless person is in anyone's best interest? Please do the right thing. If you know the identity of the perpetrator, call Crime Stoppers and turn them in.
