Police need to be visible

I never see a police patrol car in my neighborhood and Megan Glover (Guardian, Nov. 20, “We need a crackdown on inattentive, aggressive driving”) complains the Charlottetown Police Department ignore inattentive and aggressive driving even when they do patrol or are out driving.

We don’t experience much crime here, with no serial killers to date, so what does the police do all day? They need to be visible, on the streets charging lax and inattentive and drunk drivers every day so taxpayers can see them at work.

It’s time to clean up the streets with lots of visible police writing lots of traffic tickets and showing the public they are on the job and being effective at some thing.

David Steeves,

Charlottetown
