Editor:
I read with interest Wes Sheridan’s statement in Saturday’s Guardian: ‘Sheridan says it’s not fair for all P.E.I. taxpayers to be on the hook for hundreds of millions in pension losses’.
Might I remind Mr. Sheridan that in 1994 the Liberal government thought it was ‘fair’ to take 7.5 per cent off approximately 12,000 Island employees’ salaries. It is obvious the Liberals need a new dictionary to look up important definitions.
I would like to see a lineup of what our current ministers’ pensions will look like after eight years in office. The rest of us worked 35-40 years for our pensions.
