Seafood 2000 Ltd. in Georgetown is advertising for plant workers for $12.98/hour plus vacation pay.

This isn’t competitive. They don’t provide transportation or any other incentives to attract workers so they are short every season. Before approving the company to recruit foreign workers I believe the employer should offer $15/hour and provide transport and they would attract enough local workers to fill their needs. Employers need to realize how competitive the labour market has become so they need to get realistic on wages instead of bringing in foreign workers to keep wages low and not competitive.
