Excuses fail on food price increases

Now let me get this straight. From 2004 to late 2015, the spokespeople for grocery giants Sobeys and Super Store, as well as other smaller operations, unfailingly blamed increases in the cost of their products on the increasing cost of fuel and therefore the transport of goods to P.E.I.

During the past year the price of fuel has decreased remarkably, but somehow that has not resulted in any decrease at all in the price of the goods sold at these stores.

Incredibly, Sobeys, Superstore and others are now blaming the still-increasing cost of goods to the consumer on the falling value of our dollar, which, by golly, is at about the same value it was at in 2004 when this all began.
