Editor: Earth Action co-coordinator Sharon Labchuk is spearheading a campaign called “Operation Pesticide Watch” where she hopes people will become better informed about P.E.I.’s pesticide regulations and report violations. It’s quite disappointing that Islanders can’t trust potato farmers to follow the rules and we dare not trust government’s enforcement actions because they are so ineffective.

The public is encouraged to report drunk drivers to the RCMP and now we are asked to report violations of the pesticide regulations which appears necessary for public safety.
