Potato farmers an election issue

Editor: The Environment Minister Janice Sherry has done next to nothing to prevent fish kills so I’m not sure why she would be devastated to hear of another 1,000 dead fish in the North River. Fish kills are becoming an expected annual event because of almost total lack of enforcement by all farm inspectors. Last 2013 the minister had only two successful court cases so it’s clear the government isn’t serious about pesticide reduction so the kills go on. Since the North River investigation is being taken over by the province we may never get a report of the cause or at least not before the next election. Islanders have lost all faith in the Ghiz government to protect us from potato farmers so this will be an election issue which will cost the Liberals many votes.
