Editor: The Tourism Research Centre at UPEI has done exit surveys on visitors since 2006 however they informed the Tourism Minister due to the lack of a director the program is axed this year.

The ministers wants to measure the impact of 2014 spending so Tourism P.E.I. and P.E.I. 2014 Inc. will hire staff and continue this year’s tourism data research. P.E.I. 2014 Inc. is responsible for spending $ 29-million to celebrate 2014 events so one can be assured the exit surveys will be very positive and the entire year will be a wonderful success for Tourism and the Ghiz government. Since we already know the results of the so-called research why bother to waste more money doing a survey? No matter the facts P.E.I. 2014 Inc. will write their own version of how successful the year was and what a great job they did for the Island.
