Editor: I read Shawn Stevenson's letter concerning the wearing of helmets while cycling. The part of the equation that Shawn (and thousands of other Canadians) has missed is that Canada has a public health care system. The mean cost of brain injuries to Canadians per annum is in the region of $40,000 per person. Taxpayers do not wish to expend health care dollars on injuries that are preventable. Please wear that helmet Shawn....
