Editor: The picture with the opinion piece of Isabel Delaney in the issue of May 3 does still puzzles me. Now, between Pierre Jahier and myself we have decided it is not a picture of a breech birth or an abortion. So what is it, a picture of cute baby feet? Mr. Jahier really doesn’t need to say that this is his last letter for a while on the subject, dialogue is what is needed on the subject of abortion, not the usual approach that let’s avoid the issue because it is too emotional or what we really want to do is not talk about it.

This is where I am disappointed in Mr. Trudeau. The Liberal Party has the right approach with its pro-abortion plank, and he is right to come out and say he is pro-choice. But to say you cannot run as a Liberal candidate if you are not pro-choice is wrong. He is sounding and acting like Stephen Harper. Open discussion is what is needed. I do hope Mr. Trudeau rethinks his remarks.
