Misinformation weakens argument

Editor: Kudos to Andrew Thompson for his enlightening letter in today’s Guardian (“The statistics don’t support pesticide use, cancer rates”) on a rather heated debate. He takes letter writers to task who either knowingly or otherwise provide inaccurate statistics when they address these issues.

Misinformation is worse than no information and only weakens one’s argument for their cause. If you’re going to take the time to state your opinion, please make sure you have your facts correct so you don’t waste your time or anyone else’s.

Remember the boy who cried wolf.
