Editor: My name is Ryan and I’m a student in Ms. Morrison’s Grade 8 homeroom class at Montague Intermediate School. We have submitted a video for the My Parks Pass program’s Canada’s Coolest School Trip contest. The theme of the contest is Canada’s Coolest Stories — where nature and history meet.

To enter, you had to make a one-minute video and complete a two to four page written creative brief (each worth 50 per cent). We spent Sunday, Feb. 9, at Dalvay-by-the-Sea National Historic Site, filming our video and learning the history of the site.

We wrote, filmed, directed, edited and acted in our video with the help of our teachers Megan Morrison and Ryan Casey. To move on to the second round, we need the community to help us out with votes. We are currently fifth and have to stay in the top 10. We are the only school on P.E.I. entered into the contest. The grand prize is a four-night class trip to Victoria, B.C.

We hope you will watch our video and vote for us. We are really proud of our video. You can vote once a day until March 24. We would really appreciate your help. For more information, you can contact me or our teacher Megan Morrison at 838-0860.

You can vote at and look for the panel which reads (MIS - 8C Montague Intermediate)

Thanks a lot.

Ryan James Lowery,

On behalf of the students of 8-C,
