Editor: The fact that over 200,000 people applied to take a one-way trip to Mars and never return to earth indicates there are plenty of nut-jobs left in our world.

P.E.I. native Trish Woodford, who now resides in Toronto, is one of them. She is a 29 year-old prosecutor who lost 125 pounds over the past year to get in shape for the Mars trips to start in 2024. She thinks the clues to our existence lie outside earth and sees the trip as exciting exploration and the great adventure.

She says: “ Life is not measured on how long you live but what you do with your life.”

My response to her is: “ please get a life first”.
