Editor: I know Dave Steeves personally. It is undoubted he has genuine and true compassion and concern for the close relative of Charlene Robertson now embarked on recovery from addiction. Such attributes of Mr. Steeves only mirror his frequent role as a valuable and constructive critic on Island social justice issues, particularly in the Letters to the Editor section of The Guardian.
For my part (and that of other readers I hope) I appreciate the timely, varied, relevant, pinpoint and qualitative analysis of Mr. Steeves appearing from time to time in your paper. Mr. Steeves deserves much more appreciation for his time and efforts than the mere distasteful crow that Charlene Robertson (in her published letter of December 14 last) would let befall him as his deserved rightful due.
Thanks, Mr. Steeves, for your insightful, balanced and useful social commentaries in your letters.
