Editor: Canada Post plans to stop home delivery of mail and lay off 8,000 workers to cut costs by 2019.

The decision affects about 55 mail carrier jobs on P.E.I. which will eventually disappear. This on top of many Ottawa cuts already to federal programs such as EI and research grants.

The Harper government is driving us right into the ground with the constant cutting of programs which Islanders need and have depended on.
