Editor: I’m not sure if The Guardian has paid for a subscription to Toronto Star’s Heather Mallick’s columns, because they seem to be in our local paper every day. They are often long, and a bit tedious to read, but when I saw her recent column “I need my fix of Breaking Bad”, I wonder what the significance of her writing is.
If your paper wants to run such opinions, perhaps they should be in the entertainment section. And why not devote more editorial space to regional writers, rather than someone from upper Canada with a seemingly very high opinion of her own writing? Whether or not you re a fan of the above-mentioned TV series, I think the editorial section should be devoted to more pertinent issues.
Almost makes me look forward to The Meddler’s column.
