Man injured after attacked with scissors in elevator at Halifax hospital

Halifax police say a 24-year-old man faces charges after a bizarre attack in an elevator at a Halifax hospital.

A 52-year-old man sustained several small puncture wounds after he was stabbed with a small pair of scissors during the altercation at the IWK Health Centre.

Police say the men new each other and the attack wasn't random.

The suspect was apprehended by hospital security and police say he faces charges including assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and threats.

Police say the victim was treated for minor injuries.
