Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for all three P.E.I. counties for Tuesday.

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected.

An intensifying low pressure system will approach the Maritimes from the southwest tonight.

It will move into the Gulf of St. Lawrence Tuesday afternoon before heading into Newfoundland and Labrador that night.

In the wake of the low strong northwest winds will gust to between 90 and 100 km/h on Tuesday before diminishing at night as the low pulls away.

Prince County is already under a rainfall warning for tonight and Tuesday morning.

Rain is expected to be heavy at times and the frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb the rainfall.

Prince County can expect near 25 millimetres of rain tonight and Tuesday. The rain will change to periods of snow during the afternoon Tuesday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

There is also a wind warning advisory that will impact on Confederation Bridge.
