...But Prince County still has freezing rain warning in effect

The good news is that Environment Canada has ended the special weather statement for Queens and Kings County, but the bad news is that the freezing rain warning is continued for Prince County.

Some more good news is that most of the highways on Prince Edward Island are now clear.

Main roads in Prince County are mostly bare with some slippery spots. The side roads in that part of the province are reported to still be ice covered. Plows have been salting the roads since early Friday morning.

Kings County roads are reported to be wet with some icy spots but mostly in good condition.

Queens County roads are in good condition but sanders are still out on secondary roads.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

There have been no reported power outages, travel restrictions on the Confederation Bridge or cancelled flights at the Charlottetown Airport.

However, there are several delayed flights arriving from Orlando, Toronto and Halifax. There is only one delayed departure to Orlando.
