When people buy street drugs they might not get what they're expecting.
That's a message RCMP Cpl. Andy Cook wants to drive home as part of the force's education efforts.
"Right now we're seeing unknown pills out there. They could contain next to anything," he said.
Cook said in 2012 there were what people thought were methamphetamine pills that contained the drug known as bath salts.
In Alberta, there have been cases people thinking they were buying methamphetamine or other drugs, but instead they got something that killed them, Cook said.
Cook said when those people bought the pills that wasn't what they planned.
"You don't know what you're getting," he said.
