The programs greatly benefit first-generation Canadians in their efforts to become more involved with the community and better integrated into Island social life, introducing newcomers to Islanders and offering newcomers an opportunity to make and maintain key interpersonal relationships. Tea House events are of equal value to Islanders as they promote greater understanding, tolerance and appreciation of the diverse cultural, religious and social backgrounds of all people living on the Island.
This year, the Tea House celebrated its 23rd anniversary. For more information, call Ratna Rajapaksa at 902-314-5772.
