There will be over 600 employment opportunities available at the annual tourism job fair being hosted today by the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI) at the Delta Prince Edward, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The goal of the tourism job fair is to provide job seekers, students, employers, training institutions and government agencies a central location to network.
This event will be most effective for businesses currently recruiting, expecting to recruit in the near future or those wanting to promote their services to job seekers.
The tourism industry has so many opportunities that can appeal to different interests and ages, says TIAPEI President Robert Jourdain.
“We encourage everyone interested in tourism to attend March 5th and see what opportunities await.”
This event is open to all ages, skill levels and educational backgrounds of people that have a desire to work in the tourism industry.
Attendees of job fair will also have a chance to enter to win a pair of tickets to one night of the Cavendish Beach Music Festival.
To view the entire list of employers who will be attending the job fair or for more information, visit www.tiapei.pe.ca.
This project is funded in whole or in part by the Canada/Prince Edward Island Labour Market Development Agreement.
Tourism is a vital industry in Prince Edward Island that provides over 7,300 full time equivalent jobs for Islanders. It accounts for approximately $401 million in economic activity each year and seven per cent of the province’s GDP, the highest percentage of any Canadian province.
