Snow and heavy rains have been forecast for all three P.E.I. counties for Wednesday into Thursday.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of P.E.I.
A low pressure system is forecast to approach the Maritimes from the Southwest.
Snow will develop ahead of the low beginning near noon and change over to rain late in the afternoon as a warm front extending from the low pushes across the island. There is a likelihood of freezing rain especially over Prince county during the transition.
The rain will continue Wednesday night and on Thursday as the low moves to lie over southern Quebec. Rainfall amounts in excess of 25 mm are possible on Thursday.
