Nice to see all 4 were arrested in short order. Nice work by Law enforcement. Makes me wonder what level of force is allowed by home owner to defend themselves and their property?

Should be charged with attempted murder / no less than 10 years in prison .Almost a weekly thing here in pei .You can blame the twisted justice system we have here in canada ; worst here in pei .If he was able to defend himself and do harm to the intruders; He would end up in jail and the intruders would . get probation. We should be allowed to protect ourselves in our own home. These idiots know that they are safe walking into someones house in the middle of the nite because if they own a gun ; It will be locked away in a gun safe ; in another room seperate from the amo .looking for the safe keys in the dark . Something needs to be done soon. Its to a point ; people do not feel safe in their own homes .

You don't speak for me, Fred. I feel safe in my home. I'm not saying break and enter isn't serious, but charge them with attempted murder? Why? And if you think the solution to his problem is go relax gun laws....aww never mind, there's no point debating with you.

Home invasion is a bit of a stretch, there's a whole lot more to this, believe me.

Nancy, I could not agree more. Home Invasions should carry the max sentence a Judge can hand out. This is a serious crime and the Victim(s) never recover from the trauma. I do believe the range is four to six yrs if a weapon involved. These four should all get the max, no holes barred. This poor man living alone in peace should not have to endure this. I do hope to read some concerned remarks about this tragedy

How low can you get to abuse a fragile poor old man who probably worked hard all his life, something they wouldn't know much about because they get their money this way. Grrr..... Not to mention the poor man living alone . They will reap what the sow . And the JUSTICE SYSTEM needs to come down hard on these idiots who think they can walk in on people's properties and threaten and abuse them .

It doesn't say the man was elderly, fragile or poor in the article.

Pam: what different does it make if he is not fragile ,old . No one , I mean NO ONE , has a right to break into this home , against one person. Is one of the four a relative of yours ? Or you condoning this behaviour ? Share with us what the reason is for your response , as intelligent as it is .

Geez Louann, accuracy is important. Pam isn't disputing the seriousness of the charge, Now is she "condoning" the crime. How do you reach theses conclusions? She's just pointing our that some of Nancy's information is completely fabricated or dreamed up. That's how rumours get started.

The man is only 31 and is a disabled combat veteran that suffers severely from past trauma.
