The RCMP arrested a 21-year-old Alberton man after allegedly catching him on an ATV while he was banned from driving.

On Jan. 31 at around 10:20 p.m. RCMP officers were patrolling in Alberton when they saw an ATV pull into a gas station parking lot.

It is illegal to operate ATVs on public roads.

When they stopped the ATV they learned the driving was banned from driving any motor vehicle.

The RCMP impounded the ATV for 30 days.

The driver was charged with driving while prohibited and will appear in provincial court in Summerside in March.

Please keep enforceing the law regarding ATVs . These few drivers that make all the considerate uses look bad. They ruin farmers fields, lawns, the groomed snowmobile trails and think they can drive the roads with impunity because " the cops can't catch me" attitude. The public should report all these people even if it's their neighbours or kids. It might save their life. If you can't drive on your own property you shouldn't have one.
