Charlottetown's version of Islander Day activities. Other communities on the Island also have Islander Day special events.

Islander Day in Charlottetown will involve some free stuff for families.

The City of Charlottetown will be serving up a pancake breakfast, family swims, bowling, performances by The Music Man - Michael Pendergast, skating at the Simmons Arena and more on Monday, Feb. 15.

Things kick off at the West Royalty Community Centre at 8 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast.

The family skate begins at 9:30 a.m. at Simmons Sport Centre, and the CARI pool is offering two family swims at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Mayor Clifford Lee says Islander Day was established to provide a short winter break, a holiday for families to spend time together.

“We’re pleased that we’re once again able to host an Islander Day celebration of free activities for all ages. We invite everyone to come join us,” Lee said in a news release.
