Resident of Mount Stewart caught in early morning hours on Bayfield Street

Charlottetown Police Services was conducting a routine patrol early Sunday morning at 3 a.m. on Bayfield St., and stopped a vehicle for a traffic offence.

It turned out that the driver, a 34-year-old resident of Mount Stewart, was impaired, said a report issued by police.

The accused man eventually showed in tests that he had in excess of twice the legal amount of alcohol in his blood.

He will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.
