Officer of year
Deadline is this coming Friday, Jan. 8 in award sponsored by P.E.I. Crime Stoppers
PEI Crime Stoppers is looking for P.E.I.'s top police officer as it calls for nominations by the end of this week for police officer of the year.
"This is your opportunity to nominate a police officer who has gone above and beyond to help keep our Island safe," said a statement issued by the organization.
There are two categories, one award to an RCMP member, the other to a member of a municipal police department.
Nominations can be for both or just one category and can come from anyone, a member of the public or fellow police officers.
Nominees must be currently working on the Island and should have exhibited outstanding qualities during the 2015 calendar year, said the statement.
"PEI Crime Stoppers would like to honour the men and women of our police services by recognizing the work they do to make Prince Edward Island a safer province to live, learn and do business in," said the statement.
Deadline to submit a nomination is this Friday, Jan. 8.
The awards will be presented at the Crime Stoppers annual general meeting on Jan. 14t at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel.
