Island EMS

Prince Edward Island’s ground ambulance service has a new manager.

Darcy Clinton is the new general manager for Island EMS and Medacom Atlantic, effective immediately, after having filled the role as acting general manager.

In his new role, Clinton will be responsible for advancing patient and employee safety, while leading best practices.

A native of Souris, Clinton is an advanced care paramedic, who has close to 17 years of experience in emergency medical services.

Clinton spent the past four years as the support services manager, leading the maintenance of fleet services, medical policies and high-quality training.

“Darcy is a great leader with solid experience,” said Daniel Marcil, chief operating officer of Medavie EMS. “Building on the strength of his team, he will provide leadership to a highly skilled team dedicated to providing the best quality care to Islanders.”

Island EMS, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Medavie EMS, began operating the ground ambulance service in Prince Edward Island in April 2006.

Operating on a long-term service contract with the government of P.E.I., Island EMS is solely responsible for the delivery of the pre-hospital emergency care and non-emergency transfers for the province of Prince Edward Island.
