Home heating oil prices are set to rise across P.E.I. just as the temperature drops
The provincial government has announced it is increasing support to the Salvation Army’s home heating program.
In total, the province is contributing $136,200 to the program, which is an increase of $15,000 over last year.
The home heating assistance program started eight years ago to help support Islanders who were in urgent need of heating oil.
The Salvation Army delivers the program and assistance is provided based on need.
This year the P.E.I. Petroleum Marketers Association will donate 8,000 litres of oil and has raised $3,000 from its members to donate to the program.
