RCMP are calling a garage fire in Stratford Tuesday night suspicious and are asking for the public’s help after witnesses saw a dark-coloured pickup truck leaving the area at the time of the fire.

STRATFORD — A fire that damaged a garage and the vehicle inside it in Stratford Tuesday night may have been set deliberately.

Queens District RCMP say the residents were at home on Jane Crescent when they heard a loud bang. They looked outside and found their detached garage on fire. The home owners were able to put out the fire, but not before it caused damage to the garage and a vehicle inside.

Witnesses told police they observed a dark-coloured pickup truck leaving the scene at the time of the fire.

RCMP are calling the fire suspicious and are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information is asked to contact Queens District RCMP at 902-368-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
