Stratford Coun. Steve MacDonald
STRATFORD — After 27 years of service to the Town of Stratford, Coun. Steve MacDonald has decided not to reoffer for the upcoming municipal election in Stratford.
MacDonald began his service as a councillor for the Community of Bunbury and has represented Ward 1-Stewart Cove on the Stratford Town Council since the town was formed in 1995.
“Steve is passionate about Stratford and we are very thankful to have had Steve’s commitment and expertise during the past 27 years. He has been an integral part of building this great community and will be greatly missed in council chambers,” said Mayor David Dunphy.
MacDonald currently serves as chair of the recreation, culture and events committee and the Stratford Seniors Complex. In past years, he also served as the deputy mayor and chair of many other committees, including public works.
“It has been a great pleasure and honour to have worked with Councillor MacDonald,” said chief administrative officer Robert Hughes. “He has worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents, always looking out for the community as a whole and he will be greatly missed by the staff of the town.”
