Coin to be unveiled Tuesday in Charlottetown

Royal Canadian Mint

The Royal Canadian Mint will unveil a new collector coin to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown conference.

That unveiling will take place Tuesday at Province House.

Premier Robert Ghiz, Fisheries Minister Gail Shea and Marc Brûlé, chief financial officer with the Royal Canadian Mint, will be on hand for the ceremony, which will begin at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place outside the P.E.I. legislature on the Richmond Street side of the building.

The Royal Canadian Mint is the Crown corporation responsible for the minting and distribution of Canada’s circulation coins.
