Ron Lee of Charlottetown has announced his intention to run in the upcoming city election for Ward 2.
Lee grew up on Richmond Street in the ward, where and his wife Cindy chose to raise their family and where he has been active both as a fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society, and the Walk So Kids Can Talk Help Phone.
Lee also served multiple terms as a trustee on the Eastern School Board representing the area. The couple has three children, Patrick, Elizabeth and Victoria.
In making his decision to offer for the Ward 2 seat, Lee said he has spoken with many residents in the area, and some of their concerns are the need for an increased police presence in the area, the environment, affordable and accessible housing for seniors, low-income families and people with disabilities.
Lee notes that as the Miltonvale wellfield development enters the next phase, now is the time for the city to develop an enforceable water conservation plan, to protect our valuable resource.
“I am committed to working with all members of council and other levels of government to ensure the concerns of the residents in Ward 2 are addressed. I look forward to meeting with all citizens of the area, and hearing their ideas and concerns,” said Lee.
“Only by working together can we make a difference.”
