it would have been nice if they had signs up around these areas before the parade. We parked downtown last night and came back to find no car and a 100+ bill to get our car back. I am sure we wernt the only ones! I understand that this needs to be done but this is during heavy tourist season and with no knowledge of the upcoming parade today who would one know (other than reading the local paper) that these restrictions were in place?

The Gold Cup Parade Committee needs to consider changing the route for future years since this route makes it impossible for somebody to travel from one side of downtown to the other side of downtown. For somebody like myself coming in from Stratford and trying to get to my place of business on Water Street near Queen Street it is impossible to do so since Queen Street, Water Street, University Avenue, Euston Street and North River Road will all be closed. I am not opposed to the parade but believe that the route needs to be changed to allow for people not watching the parade to be able to carry on with their daily activities - for example, have the parade turn onto Queen Street at Euston and then turn onto Grafton and go to the event grounds. At least with the Christmas Parade there are ways to get around it since it is primarily on University Avenue.
