Charlottetown man jailed for stealing from Sears

A Charlottetown man was sentenced Tuesday to 45 days in jail for stealing merchandise from Sears department store.

Jeremy Russell Wagner appeared in provincial court to hear his sentence.

He received a further 15 days, consecutive to the first sentence, for failing to attend court on a previous occasion.

Wagner must make restitution to Sears for $239.98.

He must also pay a $100 victims of crime surcharge.

Brodie Joseph Murphy, age 28, of Charlottetown, was sentenced to three days in jail after pleading guilty to a charge of impaired driving in provincial court earlier this week.

Murphy must also pay a fine of $1,000.

Jeffery Stephen Gallant, 33, of Charlottetown pleaded guilty Monday in provincial court to a charge of possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking.

Gallant entered the guilty plea before provincial court Judge Nancy Orr.

Orr adjourned the case for sentence to Sept. 23.
