Coun. Eddie Rice, chair of Charlottetown's Water and Sewer Utility committee, says the city may have to expropriate some of the land its needs for its sewer separation project.
Charlottetown councillor Eddie Rice is back up and running after an encounter with a young girl on a bicycle.
The collision between the two occurred last Tuesday about 8 p.m. at the corner of Goodwill Ave. and York Lane.
The girl was not seriously injured but Rice left the scene in an ambulance.
The Guardian contacted Rice who said he is back on the go.
Rice said the girl was not riding on her bike at the time of the collision, but was pushing it, following a group of other children.
Rice told The Guardian that bystanders at the scene, who happened to be doctors, took his pulse as a routine assessment process, but were concerned about what his pulse revealed.
Almost unrelated to the accident, the doctor said there was something worrisome and asked the paramedics to run a monitor scan on Rice.
"All of a sudden there were tapes and wires and patches all over me," said Rice.
He traveled in the ambulance to hospital for more tests that lasted well into the night and found a heart condition that will need further assessment.
Rice said a careful review of his records by the medical team that night showed hints of his heart situation from the past which had never received follow up investigation.
