The Confederation will be making five return trips between P.E.I. and Nova Scotia today.

Due to a mechanical problem, the Holiday Island car ferry that travels between Wood Islands, P.E.I. and Caribou, N.S. was taken out of service Thursday afternoon.

The larger Confederation ferry is still making the trip back and forth, but Northumberland Ferries will offer fewer crossings today.

The Confederation will be sailing a five-trip schedule today, leaving Wood Islands at 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. and 1, 4:30 and 8 p.m.

The return trips from Caribou are as follows: 8 and 11:15 a.m. and 2:45, 6:15 and 9:30 p.m.

Geographic location: Wood Islands, Holiday Island, P.E.I.
