Lord Selkirk Park
Lord Selkirk Campground in Eldon will host a new event today, Saturday, July 26 - Florida Days on Prince Edward Island.
It is a six-hour music festival that will feature some of the best entertainment that P.E.I. has to offer.
P.E.I. has a long history of folks who pull up roots and head to the sunny south each winter with many calling Florida their home away from home. On the flip side, many folks travel from the sunny south to P.E.I. in the summer. The family-friendly festival, which runs 2-8 p.m., will see performances by Dino Dunsford, Phase II, Kelley Mooney, Johnny Ross and Kendall Docherty. Mid-afternoon the stage will transform into an open mike session with the stage being offered to those in the crowd who would like to share their talents.
The Lord Selkirk Campground, which recently transferred from a provincial park to a community-run campground, features both two-way and three- way sites.
Folks attending Florida Days are invited to bring their camper trailers, RVs or tents.
Campground manager Keir White is pleased to have this festival hosted at the Lord Selkirk Campground, as it allows more folks a chance to see the renovations at the campground over the past few months. For more information of the event, call Docherty at 569-1133 or Brian Knox at 569-3327. For information on the venue or to book a campsite for the weekend, call 659-2794.
