Man robbed at knifepoint in Charlottetown

Shortly after a man told Charlottetown police he was robbed at knifepoint in the city's downtown, another man was arrested for the crime.

The victim, who was not injured, told police another man threatened him with a knife Saturday shortly before 9 a.m. on Fitzroy Street, near Queen Street.

Police cordoned off the area and arrested a 29-year-old Charlottetown area man minutes later.

The accused was jailed at the Provincial Correctional Centre and will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.
