Gas prices

Islanders woke up to a bit of a break at the pumps after the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved a 3.3 cents per litre drop in gas prices.

That drop means the price for regular unleaded at self-serve outlets will range from 134.9 cents per litre to 136.0 cents per litre.

The price of furnace oil went down by 4.5 cents per litre and is selling for a maximum of 102.3 cents per litre plus tax.

Diesel is also cheaper thanks to a 4 cents per litre decrease.

The price of propane stayed the same.

IRAC’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on Aug. 1.
