Apparently the party at the Haviland Club went too long.

The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission has suspended its special premises liquor licence, beginning 9 a.m. today until 9 a.m. Sunday, July 13.

So much for being a class act! Big membership fees and yet they lose their liquor license?? Just the kind of club I'd want to belong to!

The first step is to rid the taxpayer the cost of warehousing and dispensing costs which are in turn added to the price of alcohol. If foolish people wish to continue paying double the price for a case of beer so be it I guess. Can you imagine some govt stores actually lost retail profits last year? Who picked up that tab? A major overhaul is needed at the Liquor Commission and of the Act. There is not a politician with the stomach to do it. Rules are rules? Rules are the result of laws. Someone once said the law is an ass. Right Scott? Opps ---Left Scott?

Couldnt agree more Garth... But As I pointed out previously, you seem to like pointing the finger at the Liberals, when your beloved Tories are just as guilty. Next time, make the point WITHOUT your blatant partisainship . You will pick up a tad bit more credibility by doing so.

So....the Hav looses it license because folks don't wanna go home right after the bar closes. Penalized for wanting to socialize without liquor. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me? Am I missing something?

Garth Staples... These archaic laws were in effect when your beloved leader Binns was in power... I dont recall seeing the laws changed under his tenure. Perhaps you might add " big daddy TORY gov't to that little speal of yours as well. Keep up the good work you tired Tory hack, but you still arent getting to the trough with the rest of your buddies. They laugh at you too!
