A mob of sorts decended on the lawn in front of the Coles Building in Charlottetown Saturday and read while three busloads of curious tourists watched.

Approximately 25 young readers who are participating in the TD Summer Reading Club as well as staff of the children's library at the Confederation Centre Library, participated in the event.

A story mob is a flash mob where participants act out a story in a highly visible public area, which in this case was the lawn of the Coles Building.

"I think it is a great way for children to use their imagnation and creativity to help bring a book to life," Robert Henderson, minister of tourism and Culture, said in a news release.

The TD Summer Reading Club is a fun summer club for children of all ages that engages them "in the joy of reading through various activities," a government news release said.
