Brain Injury Association of P.E.I. running 2nd annual Hat Day as a fundraiser.
Asking Islanders to pay $1 to wear a hat all day
The Brain Injury Association of P.E.I. will celebrate Brain Injury Awareness Month with a Hat Day on Thursday, June 26.
A news release from the organization says they are asking Islanders and businesses across the province to help raise awareness by wearing a hat for that day and donating a loonie to the brain injury association.
Stickers will be made up to show an individual or firm’s participation in Hat Day.
"Where Hat Day came about is when I received my brain injury, I had to wear a hat because my head was always being shaved and my scalp was full of scars," said Kenneth Murnaghan, president of the association.
"Now I don't wear a hat because I need to, I wear a hat because i want to," said Murnaghan.
